Why We Named Our
Company "BossaNova."
We wanted a name that conveyed, “Hey, we’re different.” We liked the Latin meaning of "nova" (new,
refreshed, extraordinary). And we liked the feeling and implications of
"bossa nova," which is a popular form of music created by blending
Brazilian rhythms with American jazz. When we consulted a Portuguese
dictionary and learned that "bossa nova" means "the new beat" or "the
new way," we knew we'd struck gold.
